First, Sitges reaches the Posidonia Festival, an event dedicated to art and nature that takes its name from the oceanic Posidonia, a marine plant that is essential to protect the life of Mediterranean ecosystems and coastlines from erosion. El festival, celebrating the fifth edition is organized by the nonprofit Posidonia MED, will be held in Sitges between 31 August and 2 September, after editing Carloforte (Sardinia, Italy), which will be 20 to the 22 July.

Made in collaboration with the Centre for Marine Studies, City Council, l'Agència of Promotion Tourism Sitges, Barcelona Provincial Council, dels Consortium Take the Miralpeix, Drap Art OCEAN2012, The event includes many free activities such as concerts, screenings of documentaries on environmental issues, art installations, workshops for children and adults, conferences, roundtables and EcoFair.
